Synopsis :
What happens when you mix colourful textiles with urgent warnings about the planet? This short film follows sustainable fashion designer Ellen Monaghan, who creates vests to tell stories about food insecurity, displacement and environmental collapse, in hopes of inspiring conversations and, ultimately, action. Using a variety of fabrics, including materials upcycled from the annual Calgary Grandmas' Fabric Sale, Monaghan meticulously weaves poetry, news headlines and humour into her designs.
